This 427ci V8 is #70 of 427 examples released in 2008 and produced in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Chevrolet big-block engines. Purchased the engine from Broadway Automotive of Green Bay, Wisconsin, in September 2008, and it has been stored in its crate since. The factory crate was opened to photograph the engine in preparation for the sale. The engine is based on the late-1960s all-aluminum ZL1 block, uses the same tooling, and features a forged rotating assembly, oval-port aluminum cylinder heads, and a matching oval-port aluminum intake manifold. It utilizes a hydraulic roller tappet camshaft and is designed to run on 92-octane pump fuel.
