March 847 Can Am for sale 1984
Three cars were built in the U.K and shipped to the U.S for Walker Racing. This car is chassis 001, the car was featured in June 1984 Autosport “Track Test” prior to leaving for the U.S. Jim Crawford piloted the RK 847 to success in America. When the 1984 Can Am Championship was over only two cars remained of three. The 003 chassis was crashed beyond repair, the 002 car went back to the U.K where it was modified to race in the Thundersport Series driven by Richard Piper and Tiff Needel. The 002 car is now in a private car collection
This car 001 has made a remarkable recovery from a near death experience. Due to the handy work of top race car restoraters it has been restored back to it’s former glory. It now looks as it did in the 1984 Autosport article.
It ran at the 2006 Can Am festival at Road America.
